Claudio Tanca
Executive leader at the intersection of profit and purpose, helping mission-driven organizations build sustainable models that work in the real world.

I work at the crossroads of the NGO and corporate worlds, helping mission-driven organizations move beyond grant dependency toward revenue models that actually last.
I've spent a good part of my career inside mission-driven organizations, which means I've felt the grant dependency problem from the inside – the proposal treadmill, the reporting burden, the anxiety every time a funding cycle ends. I've also worked closely enough with the corporate world to understand what those partnerships actually look like from the other side of the table. That dual vantage point is what drives Beyond Grants. Not a theory about what development organizations should do differently, but a practitioner's attempt to document what the ones figuring it out are actually doing.
Over 15 years, I've led financial and strategic transformations at global health alliances, directed communications across 20+ countries, and built partnerships between NGOs and corporations that are both ethically sound and financially viable. As Executive Director of the G4 Alliance, I opened the organization to private-sector members, secured a WHO-backed data platform, and proved that profit and purpose don't have to compete.
I'm trilingual — English, French, Italian — with dual US-EU citizenship and experience spanning Fortune 500 firms, multilateral organizations, and frontline NGOs. That range is the point. The leaders rethinking development financing need someone who has sat on both sides of the table, speaks both languages, and knows where the real opportunities lie.
